Have become an essential tool to process the high volume of box opening required at eCommerce Fulfillment Centers. The volume has increased exponentially from a typical Distribution Center’s requirement, which was typically 2-4% of boxes received. Now, fulfillment centers require nearly 100% of master packs to be opened.
The operators at receiving need all the automated tools possible to process this expanded requirement as facilities workflow and tasks have changed dramatically. Receiving has become a critical management process of inventory because centers no longer just need to confirm receipt of product then send onto storage. Decisions for allocation occur at receiving and many items must be immediately opened and loaded into automated fulfillment systems or GTO (Goods To Operator) systems.
With Point Cloud to precisely measure and size incoming boxes and automatically program exact cut contours. Boxes can be fed into the ABOT by any size order or mix – there is no need to run same size batches or group sizes together for rate efficiency.
ABOT M1 systems are completely Autonomous Robotic Box Opening systems fed with self-aligning conveyor. Boxes and cartons can be inducted by an automated conveyor system, Autonomous Mobile Robot or manually to the conveyor induct.
